Layer Uniformity Calculator
Uniformity measures how closely your pullets match each other in weight. A uniform flock peaks better and lays more consistently. Paste your sample weights to get the mean, coefficient of variation and the share of birds within 10% of the average.
How to use it
- 1 Weigh a random sample of at least 50 birds, ideally 100.
- 2 Paste the weights separated by commas or spaces.
- 3 Enter the breed target weight for that age.
The numbers are estimates, not a promise. Use your own farm records where you have them.
Questions
What is good flock uniformity?
Above 80% is good and above 85% is excellent. Below 70% usually means uneven feeding, crowding or disease.
How many birds should I weigh?
At least 50, and 100 is better. Weigh the same day each week, at the same time, before feeding.
What is coefficient of variation?
CV is the standard deviation divided by the mean. Lower CV means a tighter, more uniform flock. A CV under 10% is generally good.
